Introducing SafePass by Fisheye

In the midst of all that’s happening out there, and while you were probably trying to figure out how the traffic light system works, the Fisheye Team were working in the background to keep you more secure – and in this occasion, hopefully to make the world a better and safer place.

Introducing SafePass, a free and online tool our team have developed and published. SafePass is an application to communicate passwords or any other sensitive information over the web. It generates links that expire after a certain number of views or time has passed.

So why should I use SafePass you ask?

Well, we’ve found that’s quite a common practice for people to send passwords over emails, messaging apps or text messages. There are a number of reasons why you wouldn’t want to be doing that, but to make a long story short, let’s say any of those methods can be intercepted at multiple points, and what’s worse, they live forever in your archives or devices (often unencrypted).

With SafePass, only people with the secret link are able to see the password, which will be deleted automatically after the number of days or views you define. Needless to say, passwords are stored in an encrypted secure database.

Simply browse to www.safepass.nz, type or generate a password, set the expiration options, click “Push It!” and then share the link.

SafePass is FREE and OPEN for anyone to use, so please spread the word and tell your friends, family and colleagues to use it every time they need to share a password… instead of sending it on email or writing it on a post-it note!

If you’re interested to find out more about why you should be using SafePass instead of other methods to send passwords, you can read the About page or simply give us a call and we’ll tell you all about it.

As we said before, hopefully this will make your lives and the world a safer place.
